Now That's What I Call Music -(Albums 01-20)-1983-2009


[B]Now_That's_What_I_Call_Music-01-1983-UNO[/B]

[INFO]Now That's What I Call Music or Now was first released in 1983.
It was the very first Now That's What I Call Music album to be released,
and went on to spawn a large number of further "Now!" albums in the UK,
and later in other countries. Becoming one of the biggest albums of the year,
it became one of only a few compilation albums to reach number one on the UK albums chart,
staying there for four consecutive weeks and five in all. It also went 3x Platinum,
selling over 900,000 copies.

The album was originally released on vinyl and cassette, but on 12 January 2009,
it was released on double CD for the first time, as part of the 25th anniversary
celebrations of the series' inception.

[INFO]Now That's What I Call Music 3 or Now 3 was released in 1984. The album is the 3rd edition of the (UK) Now! series.
It was the third consecutive album of the series to reach #1 in the UK, staying there for eight weeks,
the longest run at number one out of any Now albums on the UK Albums Chart until the Compilations Chart was created in 1989.
It was also the 300th album to reach number one in the chart's history.

[INFO]Now That's What I Call Music 4 or Now 4 was released in 1984. The album is the 4th edition of the (UK) Now! series.
This album reached #2 on the UK Albums Chart, kept off the top by the newly premiering Hits album series.

Also notable is that this volume marked the first Now album to be released on Compact Disc.
It was seemingly a test run as the single-CD contained a selection of tracks from Now 2, Now 3 and Now 4,
collecting 15 tracks altogether. It wasn't until two years later in 1986
that a Now compilation was next released on CD, with a single-CD issue of Now 8
